Cumbria Down's Syndrome Support group made it to the finals of the North West Charity awards in Two categories! The first was for the most innovative Fundraising event, 26 people went to Immortal Art tattoo Studio in Carlisle to get Inked with the Lucky Few Tattoo for World Downs Syndrome Day 2018.
Immortal Art raised £1, 400 giving all the money raised from the Tattoos back to the group as well as doing some additional fundraising amongst the staff!

The 2nd award we were through to the finals for was our Royal Wedding event, bringing the community together in an inclusive way, raising awareness and promoting positivity about Down's Syndrome and disability.
Huge thanks to Bakerwood marquees, who loaned us the marquee free of charge, erecting and taking it down was no mean fete!
To Eden Arts who gave us the use of one of their cinema screens, to Percussion Stix for providing free entertainment, the field came to life with drumming!
To Tullie House Museum and Prism Arts for getting the crowds crafting and drawing, they were on there feet all day and worked really hard.
To the fire crew, who came along to show their truck to the community and helped put tarp up so we could see the cinema screen a little better.
To Roy the Artist, who painted scenes through out the day and gave all the money he made to the charity!!
To Holy Trinity and St Barnabas, who went above and beyond, lending us their tables and helping in so many other little ways.
It was a real community event and we can't thank everybody enough for helping out and to all the charities that came to showcase the good work that they do!
