A lovely monkey named Oddsox after he was made from Odd Socks for World Down's Syndrome Day decided to donate himself to raise funds for CumbriaDSSG! he managed to raise £50!! & decided to take a holiday in Cyprus before winging his way to his new owner.
Everyone at CumbriaDSSG would like to say thank you!!

We are Looking forward to starting a 3 month Trial of Shining Stars ASN Theatre Group on March 10th 2018 and hope to get enough interest to continue the group on a permanent basis.
Shining Stars ASN Theatre Company are bringing their Makaton Choir to sing for CumbraDSSG on Feb 24th! We can't wait to meet the group and see them perform!

Cumbria Down's Syndrome support group would like to Thank Robyn's manager Louise Kelton for her support.
Artemis Domiciliary Care, chose Cumbria Down's syndrome Support group to be their Charity of the year & through sponsored walks, Quiz nights & even a Christmas jumper day! They have raised an amazing £1,383.55.
We can't thank you enough!!!

Our pantomime this year will be at The sands Centre Carlisle on December the 18th. The show starts at 6pm. We would like to give a big thank you to Vicky at Contact (formerly Contact a family) for helping us secure some pantomime tickets for a number of our families.

We are please to announce that our Christmas Party 2017 is going to be held at AZTEC Soft Play Centre in Carlisle.
The Party is on the 3rd of December from 10.30 until 12.30. If you don't yet have your tickets please get in touch with Cumbria Down's Syndrome Support Group to confirm your attendance.

World Down's Syndrome Day is being celebrated by a global "Lots of Socks" event and we thought as a group it would be nice to get involved with this. We thought it would be nice to get our children's schools/nursery or even parents workplaces involved as well. Julie is writing a template letter for schools with ideas on how they may wish to celebrate this day e.g. £1 to wear lots of socks or brightly coloured clothing with half the money raised going to the schools that participate and half to the group.

We are organising a trip to see Justin & Friends at the Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle on 31st March 2013 at 1.30pm. If you are interested in going we are paying for one adult and child, if you would like extra tickets it will be £22.50 each. We are not organising transport for this event as we are trying to keep costs down, (I'm sure there will be extra spaces in peoples cars if they need a lift). These will be held on the second Tuesday every month and held alongside the Barnados Fox Cubs session in the Harraby Soft Play, Harraby Community Centre, Edgehill Road from 10:45 to 11:45 (first one on 09/10/2012). Refreshments will be provided and Julie will be there helping out if anyone has any questions.
